Open until

The accounting period is open until ... .

The opening and closing dates of an accounting period must be agreed upon with the financial accounting department.

K-Closing

  • An accounting period can no longer be used for bookings if the Closing checkmarks are activated. Accordingly, the accounting period is open if these fields are not activated.

  • If you close an accounting period that is identical to the service month of the file, the system uses the next open accounting period for the invoicing.
It is thus possible for a file to have different accounting periods.

D-Closing

Accrual closing

Accrual closing

The fields K-Closing and D-Closing are no longer considered for accruals.
This enables the posting of accruals in a month that is already closed for creditors and debtors.

Temporarily closed

Activate this checkbox to close the accounting period temporarily.

If the system determines an accounting period that is temporarily closed, it is not possible to select another accounting period manually.

Automatic opening

The EDI interface reacts to the fields on the right.
This sets the accounting period to Open or Closed in the fields K-closing, D-closing, Accruals closing (see above).

Irrespective of automatic opening and closing, the checkboxes for K-closure, D-closure and accruals closure can also be set manually at any time! There is no block here just because a time has been entered for automatic opening and closing.

For example, the EDI interface should set a BuPer 202202 to open at some point shortly before the start of February (all check marks removed).
And the BuPer will be closed again at some point - perhaps two weeks after the end of the month. Some transition time is usually needed because the proposal of the BuPer is often based on the performance month of the file.
Not all invoices for a file from February have already been received or written by the deadline of February 28. It must still be possible to bill these vouchers in the month 202202 at the beginning of March. The EDI interface then automatically sets all checkmarks behind the closing fields at the specified time.

Automatic closure

Date/Time

If it is then opened again manually, it must also be closed again manually or at least the date and time for automatic closing must be set again so that it does not remain open forever and ever.
