Structure of an address field
Search and add addresses
Authorization object: DYN_SUCHE_ADR
The search field for addresses from the basic data is the Address number field right next to the Account type field.
Double click or press F2 in the Address number field.
A search mask opens.
Enter your search criteria and press Search or F3.
Accept the address with OK.
The Advanced Dynamic Search, which enables a customized and dynamic search, is available as well.
Every user can individually configure search and result fields as necessary.
The search across clients (firma_t.adr_mandant_suche) is currently not available in the address search object.
Enter address (account) type, address number or matchcode
Select the address (account) type from the dropdown list and enter the address number.
Press Enter or Tab to enter the valid address from the basic data into the field.
Enter the matchcode or part of the matchcode. Confirm with the TAB key.
If there is only one address with this matchcode, this address is entered automatically.
If there are multiple addresses with this matchcode, you can select an address from the search result mask.
Add an address manually
It is also possible to enter an address that is not stored in the address basic data.
Manually type the address into the address box.
A manually entered address can be edited via Context menu → Edit address and saved in the address basic data.
Important: The address must be available in the basic data if this address field is a required field or if a basic data setting prohibits the manual entry of addresses. In this case, manually typing an address into the address box is not possible.
Use an address from another address field
The addresses in the CargoSoft order are numbered (internally) from A1 to A8. These addresses can be found in certain places in the order processing.
There are 9 addresses: A1 to A9. Placement and description of addresses 1-8 can be found here. The 9th address can be created subsequently and added to any place of the application using the mask editor.
If you would like to fill an address field with an address that is already entered in another address field, enter [An] (n=address number) to insert this address.
Create an address
During the order entry, you can create an address that has not yet been saved in the basic data.
Enter the new address into the five lines of an address field.
Select the Context menu item Edit address.
The address entry mask opens.
→ Country, Location and Phone are required fields.
Field | Function |
---|---|
Country | Enter the country code. A search function is available. |
Location | Enter the location. A search function for stored locations is available. |
Phone | The system automatically enters the country code if the Country field is filled. |
Confirm with OK. The basic data mask for addresses opens. The data you have entered are pre-assigned in the Header data and the tab Address → Input.Â
The system requires the entry of a customer account number → a combination of address account type (D, K, G, A, P) and an address number as well as a matchcode. The lower entry section in the address is not editable until these entries are made.
Copy and paste the company name, street address, and ZIP codes into the relevant fields. The system does not automatically determine which lines are company or street names since the structure of address lines differs fundamentally from country to country. Use the Address format field to assign the address format. This field provides a search function.
Save and close the address basic data.
The address is now stored in the basic data.
Edit address
In order to enter a different address, it suffices to overwrite the address code in the order. However, this modification only takes effect within the respective order.
A permanent change can only be made in the basic data. To do so, open the address basic data.
The following options are available to open an address from within the order:
