How are legs created?

Rule

The outbound hubs of tour and route must always be the same.

Rule

Local traffic tour (tour type = SD), if outbound hub and inbound hub of a tour are the same:

  • Tour type = G → a pick up leg is created if this is not a direct pickup.

  • Tour type = T → a delivery leg is created if this is not a direct delivery.

Rule

Direct transports (DIR) can be moved to any tour.

Exceptions:

  • The inbound hub must be the same in tour and route (if they are filled).

  • The tour type must be the same in tour and type (if they are filled).

Rule

No remaining routes are created in a direct delivery, except:

  • The inbound hubs of tour and route are filled and not the same.

Rule

For a direct transport, an exact image from the G-distance is created as T-distance. There is no remaining route.

Rule

The inbound hub of a tour must only be indicated if a remaining route is to be created, i.e. for oncarriages from one hub to another.

Rule

  • Customer/self deliveries cannot be disposed onto a local traffic tour.

  • However, customer/self deliveries are created as disposed pick up legs.

Rule

Customer pick ups cannot be disposed onto a local traffic tour.

Rule

The tour type can only be used if it is filled. If the tour type is filled in tour and route, these are compared when added.

Rule

A route without tour type automatically receives the tour type of the tour which is added.

Exeption DIR (COW/DOW)

Specific rules apply in case of a direct shipment.

In a direct shipment, the shipments are directly picked up at the shipper and directly delivered to the consignee, i.e. the shipment does not come in contact with any hubs.

When creating a direct shipment, the outbound and inbound hubs are always the same.
Please enter the hub responsible for the organisation of the transport.

Such DIR shipments or the routes are moved to tours in which the outbound and inbound hubs are also the same, matching those in the shipment.

If a DIR shipment is moved to a tour with unequal hubs, legs and remaining routes are created. The shipment is then no longer completely direct.

Exeption Import Shipments

In the order sector Import no pick up route is created if the customer order (G-distance) is moved to a main carriage tour, where the own branch is the inbound hub.
