Company name – maximum: 120 characters in total

Street – maximum: 40 characters.

Here you can enter the ZIP code of the street. A search function is available. For example, you can use the UN Location Code to search for a ZIP code.

Check ZIP codes

On address entry you have the option to check whether the ZIP code is correct. This requires data in the ZIP code table.

If the ZIP code table is filled, the system checks whether the combination of location and ZIP code is valid. Whether you enter location or ZIP code first is irrelevant. If the ZIP code matches the location, nothing happens and you can continue entering the address details.

If the system is unable to determine a valid combination, a search mask for the location and ZIP code appears. Here you can correct your entries as necessary or start a general search via F3. Enter relevant search criteria and start the search.

Select an entry from the search result and click OK to accept it into the address.

P.O. Box – maximum: 15 characters

• Accept a UN Location code from the basic data UN codes for locations.

• May only be relevant for interfaces; not a required field.

• This field is linked to the UN Location code field in the header data.

• Entries in either field will overwrite the other.

Description of the location. 

• e.g. (federal) states

• Entry in basic data ORDER → REGIONS.

The fields latitude and longitude can be used for the section addresses per Container in the description of goods Seafreight → Container button.
The fields are pre-assigned on the button mentioned if the coordinates are stored in the address.

These two fields are also used in the ECM.

• Country codes are recorded in basic data Countries in ORDER.

• Currency codes are recorded in basic data Currencies in ACCOUNTING.

• Maximum: 3 characters

• This field is meant for interfaces (e.g. SCM, CRM).

• The address type must be recorded in basic data ADDRESSES → ADDRESS TYPES.             

The development of a rule is closely linked to the CargoSoft programs SCM and CRM.
These are roles or classifications, which are explained in detail in teh context of the respective programs.

• This field is connected to the field Global ID.

Both Addr. type and Global ID are filled when you accept an address type from the search result.

Freely editable field – can be used if there is a gloal ID for the address that can be accepted or transferred upon data exchange.

The field Global ID can now also be added in the voucher header of incoming invoices.

By entering a format - selection in the Address format in ADDRESSES basic data in ADDRESSES - an address can be formatted in the line structure and line content.

• If the recorded table does not contain a format, CargoSoft uses the default value from basic data COMPANY → GENERAL COMPANY PARAMETER → Specials tab instead.

• If unable to find an entry there, too, CargoSoft uses a default format.

Upon address entry, the corresponding address format is automatically pre-assigned after you enter the country code.
This must be recorded in the basic data ORDER → COUNTRIES.

SCAC codes can be recorded in basic data ORDER → SCAC CODES.

This field can be used for statistics or the AMS/ACI transfer.
